How StriideAi Uses AI
StriideAi uses AI to support selected sports training and recommendation functions.
4.1 AI provider
StriideAi uses OpenAI commercial API services for text recommendations, and Google Gemma models in its own enterprise Google Cloud environment for practice-video analysis.
4.2 Information used
Depending on the feature, StriideAi may provide limited sporting context such as:
- age range;
- skill level;
- playing experience;
- training goals;
- access to equipment;
- available training time;
- learning preference;
- sporting questions or assessment responses.
4.3 Direct identifiers
For the current recommendation flow, StriideAi does not deliberately include:
- name;
- email address;
- phone number;
- StriideAi user ID;
- StriideAi account ID.
4.4 Model training
StriideAi uses commercial API services under terms where submitted API data is not used to train the provider's general-purpose models by default.
4.5 Provider retention
OpenAI may retain API inputs/outputs temporarily for security and abuse monitoring under its applicable commercial/API terms.
StriideAi's current working governance position is:
- provider-side abuse-monitoring retention: up to 30 days;
- StriideAi AI prompt/response history: maximum 90 days;
- StriideAi AI technical/audit metadata: up to 12 months.
4.6 Practice videos
Video analysis is a separate data flow from text recommendations:
- Who processes it: Google Gemma open models (4B and 12B parameter versions) run inside StriideAi's own secure, enterprise Google Cloud environment under STRIIDE SPORTS LTD's control. Footage is not sent to a consumer AI service or to OpenAI.
- What is sent: the video frames and minimal session context (sport, drill type, skill level). Names, email addresses and account IDs are not included.
- Where: Google Cloud data centres used by StriideAi's project; Google acts as our processor.
- Retention: raw video is kept for a maximum of 30 days; analysis results (scores, comments, recommended drills) remain until you delete them or your account.
- Model training: footage is not used to train Google's or any third party's models.
- Permission: the app asks for your explicit permission before any personal data is shared with an AI service, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Practice video is treated as a separate data flow.
4.7 AI safeguards
StriideAi applies:
- minimum-necessary data;
- server-side validation;
- PII-reduction/scrubbing controls;
- age-aware prompts;
- warnings not to enter personal, medical or contact information;
- review of AI use through the DPIA and supplier-governance process.
4.8 Human judgment
AI recommendations may be incomplete or incorrect.
They should not replace:
- qualified medical advice;
- safeguarding decisions;
- parental supervision;
- appropriate coaching judgment.
AI is not used to make legal or similarly significant decisions about users.
